All courses within the R.N. to B.S.N. program are Asynchronous Online. Courses are taught using the Blackboard Learning Management System.

Through Blackboard, students will have access to assignments, discussion boards, messaging (other students, faculty, and staff), syllabi, and the BSN nursing community which will include all necessary resources, important information, updates, and announcements for their time as a student within the program.

Our program is not self-paced; however, students can plan their coursework as soon as they receive their syllabus and pace themselves to create an individualized work-life-school balance.

Courses are completely asynchronous online; lesson modules and assignments are posted weekly through Blackboard and will have assigned due dates.  Students may take up to 12 credits or a full-time status, or a slower pace 3-6 credits, depending on the student’s preference. Fall and Spring semesters follow 13 – 15-week schedules while summer courses are 10-week sessions. Specific RN-BSN courses are on a 7-week schedule.

The two 3 credit nursing electives are part of the nursing core courses. These courses are very popular and rotate each semester.  The following are the nursing electives:

  • Spanish for Healthcare Providers (The most popular elective!)
  • Pathophysiology (prepares you for an advanced degree)
  • Spirituality in Nursing
  • The History of Nursing Practice
  • Women’s Healthcare Disparities
  • Global Perspectives in Healthcare

Transfer scholarships are available to students with an associate’s degree only. These scholarships range from $4000 to $8000 per year, depending on the student’s final GPA. The higher the GPA the higher the scholarship award. In addition, Nursing grants °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Foundation Scholarships which all students (with a BA/BS, MA/MS, or AS) are eligible to receive.

°ÅÀÖÊÓƵ accepts up to 45 prior learning credits (PLC) as outlined in our policy. Areas of PLC include, but are not limited to, external exams (NCLEX) professional training, licenses or certifications, academy credits, continuing education, internal challenge exams, and portfolio assessments. The PLC credits will be applied to your BSN degree with the validation of your Nursing License.

Students have access to their textbooks via the BibliU platform.

Our faculty offer quality and current curriculum to fully prepare you for the complex healthcare environment. We are here to mentor and support students through BSN, your success is important!

Our unique curriculum and credit format is as follows: all credits from your Nursing Associate’s Degree Program, the core 33 Nursing credits*, and any remaining credits satisfied through Prior Learning with the completion of your Nursing Licensure. This will total out to the required 120 credits for the BSN. This means that your main focus will be completing the core 33* Nursing Credits!

Example: Associate degree in Nursing (60 credits), Core °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Nursing Courses (33 Credits), PLC-Nursing Licensure (27 credits) = 120 for the BSN.

*MATH140: Statistics I,  is a requirement for the BSN program and may not be a part of the associate’s degree, so it must be completed.
